【摘要】:ThisBritishStandarddescribesinformationandguidanceontestmethodsfortheanalysisofindustrialandotherwaterswhichareapplicableoutsideofaconventionallaboratoryaseitherinsituon?sitetests;ortheuseofaclosesuitabledesignatedroom/areatestingfacility.Forsometeststhiscouldincludededicatedspaceinadesignatedvehicleorcaravan.Thesetestmethodscanrelatetocompliance,waterqualityandprocesscontrolpurposes.Norecommendationisgivenastowhichtestisapplicabletoaparticulartypeofwater,norisitimpliedthatinanygivencasealltestsoranyparticularsuiteoftestsarenecessary.Theselectionoftestsdependsonlocalrequirementsandconditions.SamplesrequiringpreservationforsubsequentanalysisareoutsideofthescopeofthisBritishStandard.Certaintestssuchasadsorbableorganichalides(AOX),chemicaloxygendemand(COD),totalorganiccarbon(TOC)andtotalnitrogenneedasuitabledesignatedtestroom/areafacilityandarenotconsideredsuitablefortestingoutsideofthesedesignatedareas.Samplestabilityisnotconsideredtobeasignificantproblemasmosttest-kitmeasurementsarecarriedoutwithminimaldelay.Mostofthemethodsdescribedinthisstandardcanbeapplicableforuseoncleanorlightlypollutedwaterswhichmighthaveundergonetreatmentorbeenmodifiedforindustrialuse.Typically,thetypesofwatersforwhichthetestsareintendedincludethefollowing:a)boilerwaters;b)coolingwaters;c)watersfromhotwatersystems;d)watersfromairconditioningsystems;e)watersfromindustrialairwashingsystems;f)potablewaters;g)groundwaters;h)surfacewaters;i)processwaters;andj)swimmingpoolwaters.CertainmoreheavilypollutedwaterscanberoutinelytestedforcertaincontrolpurposesforspecificdeterminandsusingthetestmethodscitedinthisBritishStandard.Suchwatersinclude:1)sewageworksinfluentsandeffluents;2)selectedindustrialeffluents.Emergencyscreeninganalysisformajorpollutionincidentsisnotcovered(seecommentary).Theon?sitemethodsoutlinedinthisBritishStandardincludetitrimetric,colorimetricandinstrumentalanalyticaltechniquesandalsoincludesconsiderationofcommercialtest-kits:theirgeneralprinciplesandformatsavailable.ItisgenerallyacceptedthatintheUK,thevastmajorityofon?sitemeasurementsarecarriedoutusingcommercialtest-kitsratherthanuser-devisedtest-kittypemethodsfollowingsimilarequivalentmethodprocedurestothoseusedinconventionallaboratories.Alsothedesignatedroom/areatestingfacilitytitrimetricmethodsdescribedinSection4ofthisstandardmightrequirestaffwithagreaterdegreeoftrainingthancommercialtest-kittitrimetricmethodswhichcanbereadilyusedoutsideoftheseareas.Thesemethodsarelesslikelytobeusedbynon?analyststhanthemorerobusttest-kittitrimetricmethods.Thetechniqueusedandprincipleofthedesignatedroom/areatestingfacilitytitrimetricmethodaredescribedwithineachtestmethodandeachmethodisself?containedwithinastandardformat.ThisBritishStandarddoesnotapplytoradioactivity,ecotoxicity(SeePersooneetal.,2000[4])ormicrobiologicaltesting.Spottestsarenotcovered(Jungris,1997[5]).Manyoftherelevantmethodsaresuitableforanalysisforthewaterframeworkdirective(seeNoteandSWIFT2003[6]),waterforhumanconsumption(seeNote)andformonitoringofdischargestowaterandsewer(EA,2006[7]andDixonandGardner,1997[8]).
