【摘要】:ThisBritishStandardgivesrecommendationsandguidanceonthedesign,managementanduseofbuildingstoachievereasonablestandardsoffiresafetyforallpeopleinandaroundbuildings.Itisnotapplicabletoindividualdwelling-houses,andmighthaveonlylimitedapplicabilitytocertainspecialistbuildingsandareasofbuildings(e.g.areasoflawfuldetention).ThisBritishStandardisapplicabletothedesignofnewbuildings,andtoalterations,extensionsandchangesofuseofanexistingbuilding.Italsoprovidesguidanceontheongoingmanagementoffiresafetyinabuildingthroughouttheentirelifecycleofthebuilding,includingguidancefordesignerstoensurethattheoveralldesignofabuildingassistsandenhancesthemanagementoffiresafety.Itcanbeusedasatoolforassessingexistingbuildings,althoughfundamentalchangeinlinewiththeguidelinesmightwellbelimitedornotpracticable.TherecommendationsandguidancegiveninthisBritishStandardareintendedtosafeguardthelivesofbuildingoccupantsandfire-fighters.Whilstsomeoftherecommendationsandguidancemightalsoassistintheachievementofotherfiresafetyobjectives–suchasprotectionofproperty,theenvironment,communitiesandbusiness/serviceviability–additionalmeasuresmightbenecessarywhichareoutsidethescopeofthisBritishStandard.ThisBritishStandarddoesnotcoverfiresafetydesignstrategiesforextremeeventssuchasterroristactions.
