【摘要】:Thistestmethodcanbeusedtodeterminethecoefficientoffrictionoflubricatingfluidsundertheprescribedtestconditions.Theuserofthistestmethodshoulddeterminetohisownsatisfactionwhetherresultsofthistestmethodcorrelatewithfieldperformanceorotherbenchtestmachines.1.1ThistestmethodcoversaprocedurefordeterminingthecoefficientoffrictionbymeansoftheFour-BallWearTestMachine.1.2ThevaluesstatedineitherSIunitsorintheformercm-kgfmetricunitsaretoberegardedseparatelyasthestandard.Withinthetextthecm-kgfunitsareshowninparentheses.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemarenotexactequivalents,thereforeeachsystemmustbeusedindependentlyoftheother.Combiningvaluesfromthetwosystemscanresultinnonconformancetospecification.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Specificwarningstatementsaregivenin7.3,7.4,7.5,and7.6.
