【摘要】:Thistestmethodisintendedasarapidmeansforobtaininganextractofsolidwaste.Theextractmaybeusedtoestimatethereleaseofcertainconstituentsofthesolidwasteunderthelaboratoryconditionsdescribedinthisprocedure.Thistestmethodisnotintendedtoprovideanextractthatisrepresentativeoftheactualleachateproducedfromasolidwasteinthefieldortoproduceextractstobeusedasthesolebasisofengineeringdesign.Thistestmethodisnotintendedtosimulatesite-specificleachingconditions.Ithasnotbeendemonstratedtosimulateactualdisposalsiteleachingconditions.TheintentofthistestmethodisthatthefinalpHoftheextractreflecttheinteractionoftheextractantwiththebufferingcapacityofthesolidwaste.TheintentofthistestmethodisthatthewaterextractionsimulateconditionswherethesolidwasteisthedominantfactorindeterminingthepHoftheextract.Thetestmethodproducesanextractthatisamenabletothedeterminationofbothmajorandminorconstituents.Whenminorconstituentsarebeingdetermined,itisespeciallyimportantthatprecautionsaretakeninsamplestorageandhandlingtoavoidpossiblecontaminationofthesamples.Thistestmethodhasbeentestedtodetermineitsapplicabilitytocertaininorganiccomponentsinthesolidwaste.Thetestmethodhasnotbeentestedforapplicabilitytoorganicsubstancesandvolatilematter(see5.3).Theagitationtechnique,rate,andliquid-to-solidratiospecifiedintheproceduremaynotbesuitableforextractingalltypesofsolidwastes.(SeeSections7,8,andthediscussioninAppendixX1.)1.1Thistestmethodcoversaprocedureforleachingofsolidwastetoobtainanaqueoussolutiontobeusedtodeterminethematerialsleachedunderthespecifiedtestingconditions.1.2Thistestmethodprovidesfortheshakingofaknownweightofwastewithwaterofspecifiedcompositionandtheseparationoftheaqueousphaseforanalysis.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyproblems,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
